Hospice Quality Care, Inc. History

Hospice Quality Care, Inc. is locally owned and operated. Oklahoma City-area residents and sisters Judy Harrison and Diann Marr, who are both Registered Nurses (RN) and Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurses (CHPN), founded Hospice Quality Care, Inc. in 1997.

Judy and Diann believe that hospice is a calling. This philosophy of care is very important to them and serves as the basis of the day-to-day operation of Hospice Quality Care. Hospice care is a philosophy of care that is palliative. It is for the patient and their family who have chosen comfort care and are no longer seeking aggressive treatment of their disease.

Hospice Quality Care provides end-of-life care for terminally ill patients in their home, nursing home, hospital, or at our own 12-bed in-patient facility (one of only two in-patient facilities in the state of Oklahoma.) We are committed to the oath of hospice, which is to “neither hinder, nor hasten death.”

Hospice Quality Care, Inc. is licensed by the State of Oklahoma and the federal government to provide hospice services to those that are determined to be terminally ill by their physician with a prognosis of six months or less if the disease progresses as expected.

Hospice Quality Care, Inc. has achieved the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval™, which means that we have met rigorous performance standards of the Joint Commission, an independent, not-for-profit organization, that accredits and certifies more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the U.S. Further, "The fact that this facility has earned the Gold Seal illustrates that this organization has made a significant effort to review and improve the key factors that can affect the quality and safety of resident care. Also, their willingness to voluntarily be measured against the highest standards of performance shows an extraordinary commitment to provide safe, high quality care for you and your loved ones."1
